True, Vincent Vinel's take on Lose Yourself was heavily flawed especially after his enunciation rendered almost unintelligible - maybe because he's not exactly a rapper? - but what he displayed here was a nifty rhythmic sensibility, creativity, and a palpable urgency. It's hard to cover a genre outside of your comfort zone, let alone make the performance something a lot more substantial, and more than half of this year's jury agreed pushing this into the upper tier of the group.
