The youngest Jonas brother has successfully shed off the boy band image in his initial run as a solo artist. A risky challenge, but Nick Jonas took it in a surprising fashion and it worked wonders from him.

During his first flight as a solo artist, Nick showed his R&B side with a taste of pop. His first single, Jealous is a sure hit and the succeeding singles had decent run. Last year, he released his sophomore album with Bacon and Close showcasing a a more grittier R&B side. One thing that stayed though: his sexy image approach is still visually charming and raunchy that is a treat for his target audience.

Fast forward to today, Nick released Remember I Told You with an assistance from up and coming UK pop star Anne-Marie and I Took A Pill In Ibiza hit maker and songwriter, Mike Posner.

In Remember I Told You, Nick is trying what is popular on the status quo right now. The house inflected, Caribbean infused production tune is a treat. Anne-Marie provides a good contrast from Nick's vocals and the Mike Posner's verse didn't felt disjointed. The whole single is not production focused if in any case. It does though involve a familiar backtrack that worked. Nick Jonas is giving a Robin Thicke vibes here in terms of his vocals.

Remember I Told You is a solid collaboration. It finds three artists blending perfectly without really harmonizing. The verses did not in any way felt forced, the production is not overpowering, the vocals is not annoyingly too much and there is an ease, warmth and cool vibe to it that is a win combo for a summer hit. If this single is a hint of what to expect from Nick's up and coming album, then the youngest Jonas Brother is taking another step forward to his musical career.
