American Idol: Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie Round Out 'American Idol' Judging Panel

After so much chatter on who will sit on the rebooted Amercian Idol judging panel, ABC officially announced Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to round out the panel with previously signed on, Katy Perry and Ryan Seacrest as host.

Both Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie took to social media, Twitter, the announcement.

My thoughts? Quite frankly, American Idol could've done worse, so yes, I don't really mind this panel. They are highly recognizable people to the wide mainstream America and I have a feeling that the chemistry will be fun and accessible - as long as Katy will not hog the screentime like Jennifer Lopez did during her entire stint.

I will be cautiously optimistic with this panel and I'm crossing my fingers that this will actually work.
