Mother! was a difficult movie to watch with a seemingly intentional lopsided pacing that went from "there's not so much happening" to "what the actual f*ck is going on?" really fast and by the end of it, I was both confused and exhausted. The film was so spectacularly insane that I genuinely couldn't even put into words what actually went on with the film.
No, I don't think Mother! was intensely cerebral, but it was something that needed to be observed, felt, and reflected upon - and even then, I don't think it's enough to actually get a grip of the film's theme. Heck, I still have a lot of interpretations in my head up until this point, which makes it frustrating and brilliant. I'm positive though that Mother! would not appeal to everyone, but it's a glorious f*cking mess and I loved it.
