TV to Radio: New Music from Lauren Alaina, Olly Murs, Isaiah, and more

DAM NATION has been a committed reality show aficionado throughout the years that it will be a crime if we don't celebrate these reality show alumni post show success. In our own way of helping to promote these talented artists, DAM NATION is dedicating a biweekly blog post of new releases from your favorite reality show contestants. American Idol, X Factor, Got Talent and The Voice alumni have a special place for us and hopefully you support, rediscover and love these new tunes.

Here is set of new releases from your favorite stars. Enjoy!

Bea Miller, Brand New Eyes
[X Factor US 2 - Top 8]

Set to be a part of the soundtrack for the movie, Wonder. Be a Miller channels her inner Lorde and released a pretty solid single. Brand New Eyes is an uptempo track with a bopping rhythm. The lyrics were simple yet catchy. It starts with a slow verse until it reaches a chorus that is uplifting and light.

Lauren Alaina, Doin' Fine
[American Idol 10 - Runner Up]

Lauren is slowly but surely carving her name in the country music after being a runner-up of the 10th edition of American Idol back in 2011. Doin' Fine is a typical country single but it sounds more current and young which is a good route for Lauren as it represents her. She sounded good as per usual despite it not really something as a standout.

We Architects (ft. Stephen Cornwell), Escape
[Stephen Cornwell: The Voice UK 4 - Battle Rounds]

The once The Voice UK season 4 contestant collaborated with We Architects for this electro-pop tune called Escape. The single is a simple yet catchy dance jam. It is not grandiose in terms of production but the single has that summer, laid-back feel. Stephen sounded sensational too as he exhibits some sort of assuredness despite having to work with a repetitive and generic lyrics. Pretty solid to be honest.

Isaiah Firebrace, Streets of Gold
[X Factor Australia 8 - Winner]

Solid post season single. Isaiah has been a talented and reliable vocalist and his subtle and understated single, Streets of Gold, is commendable effort. His tone enjoys a laid-back production. It works as the acoustic tune isn't trying to be something else and Isaiah is showcasing how gorgeous his voice is. His relaxed yet confident delivery is breezy and calming. Streets of Gold is a wonderful single that one could enjoy while driving. Isaiah has put up some good singles with It's Gotta Be You and now Streets of Gold. Good job!

Grace Vanderwaal, Sick of Being Told
[America's Got Talent 11 - Winner]

After an awesome single in Moonlight, AGT champ released a new single in Sick of Being Told. The single is more quirky than Moonlight but less impressive - at least for me. Sick of Being Told seems to an anthemic statement from the young singer. It has a hook-laiden chorus and quirky verses but not as solid as Moonlight.

Kungs (ft. Olly Murs & Coely), More Mess
[Olly Murs: X Factor UK 6 - Runner-Up]

This new track from Kungs and Olly Murs is a reminiscent of a Bruno Mars' discography. The pop tune is funky without being too old school. It still sounds current. The bit of rap verse created dynamics and Olly sounded pretty good. More Mess is undeniably catchy with its beat driven production.
