Driven by an incredible range, enviable texture, and an innate ability to veer from silky to ragged without it feeling in any way jarring, August Dahl's Nervous was this year's wonderful surprise. He tore his blind audition piece with a terrific grasp on pitch, a nifty bit of falsetto, and an appealingly full, rich tone. This performance seriously gave this year's winner a tough competition having been on top of the list right until the final votes were casted, which shifted the ranking entirely to the other side. Nonetheless, Nervous recieved three (3) jury votes as their absolute best performance with nine (9) panelists listing it in their Top 3. Not bad for someone who didn't win his season.
