The Voice US 14: Live Playoffs (Part 1) #TeamAdam

As like every season since the day Adam decided to phone it in, he yet again ended up with the weakest team. They can obviously sing, but compared to the rest of the competition, I can only see two of them going really far. As per winning, I'm not so sure. Let's see.

06. Jackie Verva
Tim McGraw
Why did it have to be this boring? Zzz. Next.

05. Rayshun LaMarr
Overjoyed
Again, decent enough vocals, but there’s nothing particularly interesting and remarkable about the performance. Style over substance.

04. Reid Umstattd
I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
He lucked out because he’s a pretty bland performer and this song gave him the opportunity to showcase some range, grit, and somehow a personality. I’m still not convinced though.

03. Mia Boostrom
Baby I Love You
Eh. I had high hopes, but she could’ve done so much more with a different song. Sure, she made the most out of the song and the last part was actually pretty good, but it was a little forgettable despite the strong vocals.

02. Drew Cole
Man In The Mirror
I admit, Drew is probably one of my favourite contestants coming into the Live Playoffs - his Slow Hands rendition was just glorious - but this song choice left me underwhelmed. Yes, he still infused some lovely phrasing and tweaked some of the melody, but it was almost a throwaway performance.

01. Sharane Calister
Never Enough
Brooke Simpson, anyone? This was a powerful vocal performance and while she needed a little work with the control especially towards the end, one can’t deny the fact that she delivered one of the strongest performance on Team Adam. Her range, in particular, was impressive and she managed to reach those high notes without sounded screechy.
