Someone You Loved was, arguably, one of the biggest songs of 2019 and Daniel Shaw had one  of the most memorable version of this Lewis Capaldi hit. Some didn't think his knives weren't sharp enough to cut all the way through the meat of the emotional lyric, but how he managed to accentuate emotions, phrasing, and vocals with equal aplomb stunned a couple of the jury. One (1) jury member even ranked it as the best performance of the year - proof positive that he did make an impact.
