It's not an easy task to cover a recent radio hit, but it proved that Max was that contestant who simply can't be underestimated. His intonation alone was superb and his fearless leap into falsetto towards the end was a risk that paid off handsomely, and his articulation of every word made the song come to life as if people were hearing it for the first time. True, he may have been prematurely eliminated on this year's The Voice United States, but make no mistake, the jury members came together - at least most of them - and established his take on this Billie Eilish song one of the best performances of the year.
