Movie Review: Birds of Prey

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) aka The Harley Quinn Movie was downright ridiculous in the best possible way.

The way the story was structured was absolutely manic that it should not have worked at all, but it did. Margot Robbie was exceptional and once again, completely sold the suitably psychotic character of Harley Quinn from the voice to the persona down to the whimsy and the badassery. The dynamics between characters were exhilarating, the music cues were spot on, and the comedic timing were brilliant across the board. The action sequences also had some serious spunk and quite brutal.

That said, the writing on Ewan McGregor's Black Mask was a bit of a let down. I mean, it started good until it went too far and became awfully cartoonish. He acted the sh*t out of the role, but that's about it.

The Harley Quinn Movie was A LOT better than I expected achieving a tone that Suicide Squad was going for, but failed.
