Music Release: Miley Cyrus - Malibu "is a nice surprise and you won't stop."
Who would've thought that Miley Cyrus will take a total 360 degrees turn and pull something as laid back as her latest single?
Coming from the crazy that is We Can't Stop or the rousing emotional pop ballad, Wrecking Ball, Malibu is a lovely departure from it, showing us a different side of Miley and I quite dig it.
Malibu is simple, quiet and straightforward. She shed emotional substance without going intense like in Wrecking Ball or getting bold like in We Can't Stop. There's a beautiful connection to it that allows us to enjoy the folk driven single and be hooked to it. Miley's voice is also front and center and her tone worked really well to the song.
Malibu is a nice surprise and a tune that even if you hate the artist, you have to admit that you won't stop listening to it.
