Movie Review: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Sure, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri had a slow-beating style of narration that could potentially bore some people, but the consistently sharp writing and outstanding acting performances made this film a surprisingly riveting piece of cinema. The screenplay was almost sarcastic but perceptive, the unexpected dark humor and the unpredictability of the narrative was a pleasant surprise, and again, the cast was just downright superb.

Frances McDormand as Mildred Hayes, in particular, was gritty, raw and audacious. She made a striking presence and commanded attention and empathy with her skillful portrayal. The interesting thing though was that the movie was not totally dependent on her alone as Sam Rockwell who was simultaneously obnoxious and absorbing created a good contrast to McDormand's character.

I can't say enough good things about Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. It had an excellent story that was well and believably executed and performances that were just impeccable.
