Admittedly, there's an instant disconnect with Jason Jones, his vocals, and the song choice, but that made this performance even more intriguing. His gorgeous, rumbly soulful tone was unexpected yet surprisingly pleasant mix with the song and the way his upper register flourished with some interesting melodic twists was interesting enough for more than half of our panelists that even one of them ranked this as the best of the year.
