Movie Review: The Meg

Look, I genuinely wanted nothing more than a dumb and silly action shark flick that would entertain and that's practically what I got from The Meg. Sure, the story was basic and incredibly derivative, some of the performances were weak, and the visual effects vary in quality - from terrific to laughably fake - but with all that being said, it was a weirdly respectable and enjoyable shark romp through and through. And yes, that's basically all I have to say about the film. Hah. The Meg was the very epitome of a no-brainer popcorn flick. You can go and watch it and be annoyed at how bad and unnecessarily stupid the film was or just embrace all the silliness. The film did. Haha.
