Movie Review: Logan

Violent. Gritty. Beautiful. Logan was, arguably, the best film associated with the X-Men franchise. The brilliant action sequences felt contained and small, but brutal and hard-hitting, which somehow worked within the tone of the film. I thought the film was brilliantly paced, some of the comic relief didn't feel unnecessary and were all well placed, and the performances of Hugh Jackman and Dafne Keen were stellar. The kid, in particular, had pure savagery written all over her face. There was just a masterful blend of action, drama, humor, and comic book flair, which I've never seen from the Wolverine trilogy, and this was, to me, an emotionally-charged conclusion and a stunning send-off for Hugh Jackman's Logan. This was the Wolverine film we needed.
