Movie Review: The Fate of the Furious

The streak had to end somehow, no? Look, I have compared The Fast and the Furious franchise to fine wine that just gets better and better in every single time considering that it's also at seven movies deep, but sadly, The Fate of the Furious, though still thoroughly entertaining, felt way too labored. The writing was still as stilted as ever, some of the stunts were brilliant but incredibly absurd, and the plot was more of the same. That's not to take anything away from the film though because it was, as I've said, still fun to watch especially with Jason Statham as part of the team, which pushed the dynamics of the characters to a much-needed different direction.  The Fate of the Furious was nowhere as good as the last three installments, but one can't deny that it had its exciting moments. Let's see where the franchise will take the story from here on out.
