Music Release: Camila Cabello - Crying in the Club "is almost but no clear direction."

During her run in Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello has been pegged as the superstar, the front woman or in music pundits, the Beyonce or Justin Timberlake of the group. So all eyes are definitely on her post break-up of Fifth Harmony.

Will she prove them right or the vendetta of the broken-hearted Hamonizers will prevail?

Usually a featured artist, Camila found success in her collaborations with Shawn Mendes' I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and Machine Gun Kelly's Bad Things, but now as a solo artist, Camila has so much at stake in the lead single of her up and coming album.

Crying in the Club, a pop tune that will present Camila as the solo artist that she has been dreaming of. The single is sampling Christina Aguilera's Genie in a Bottle in a section of its chorus and the rhythm is reminiscent of a tune Sia has pulled beautifully last year.

That is where the single has struggled though. It will be compared to Sia's Cheap Thrills - not to mention the opening track sounds like Ed Sheeran's Shape of You.  The identity of the song is quite all over the place making the single sounds like a second rate, another artist's throwaway song. There is no clear direction. Sure, the single is obviously a dance beat friendly that will for sure cater her fans well, but as a whole, it didn't really do anything to establish Camila as the star that a lot of people had pegged her to be.

The upside of the single is that Camila has still managed to command it with confidence and sold it as a radio friendly debut single that will for sure keep her around. She also has a great team promoting her well.
