Kendrick Lamar has a history of collaborations that draw mixed reactions. Don't Wanna Know, his collaboration with Maroon 5 didn't sit well with the music pundits while his remix take on Taylor Swift's Bad Blood is well received. More so, his Beyonce collaboration (Freedom) is a hit and positively reviewed.

LOYALTY., one of his singles that features an assistance from none other than Rihanna herself could fall into the positive category rather than the negative one. LOYALTY. is radio friendly. It could be Kendrick's next radio hit depending on how the radio receives it.

The track may not be the most exciting single from Kendrick's DAMN. album in terms of lyrics but somehow the single worked well for both artist. Rihanna has that stamp that is undeniably hers. That made the single stand out on the catchy perspective - aside from having a repetitive chorus. Kendrick still a solid artist of his own.

LOYALTY. shows a familiar formula for both Rihanna and Kendrick but with a sense of authority. It is not alienating but it is also not too conventional. It has the right mix that charms all its possible audience. The single is a solid collaboration between two fantastic artist.
