Music Release: ZAYN (ft. Sia) - Dusk Till Dawn "is unexpectedly solid."

On paper, a ZAYN and Sia collaboration is an unexpected mix. It is for sure would draw interest, but the difference is miles apart that one could conclude that it won't work at all.

Dusk Till Dawn, released hours ago, is the lead single from ZAYN's up and coming untitled sophomore album. This would also serve as yet another single-collaboration from ZAYN after Taylor Swift and PartyNextDoor.

The single begins with verses from ZAYN, showing off his silky, velvety vocals that will lead to a crescendo before Sia kicks in to provide some textured vocal stylings. The single's most successful part is the booming chorus that is both memorable and radio-friendly.

It is hard to grasp on the track itself. You need a second listen to finally fathom its gorgeousness. Dusk Till Dawn is the best single from ZAYN since the chart topping PILLOWTALK -- which is his first single since departing One Direction. Much to say, credit is also due to Sia. While she outdone ZAYN in terms of vocals and the single seems more in her lane, she manages to show subtlety. The combination is actually and unexpectedly pretty solid.

Dusk Till Dawn doesn't elevate pop music but it sure did allow the market to reconsider ZAYN as a hit maker artist and not just a one-hit wonder (I Don't Wanna Live Forever, is successful due to the pairing and used as a soundtrack than the song itself being critically acclaimed).

In the end, Dusk Till Dawn is a decent example that an unexpected pairing could work on a give and take material. One is not overshadowing the other and both artist was able to meet half way to produce a good track.
