Here's yet one more sequel that more than lived up to its original film. The first
Incredibles was wonderful. This was just as good, if not better. The story was rich and inspired and while it did seem to aim at kids, it remained intelligent and never pandered to children. The conversations between characters were thoughtful, the humor was straight up hysterical, and the characters were - as usual - charming and painfully authentic with, of course, the help of the terrific voice talents. The visuals were also pretty breathtaking. Sure, it wasn't in any way a technical milestone in terms of how the other Pixar films have been, but it still kept the tradition of looking stunning and vibrant. The set up for the villain was terribly weak though and frustratingly predictable, but at this point, it's almost irrelevant. There are few sequels that can equal or even surpass its original, and for an animated feature, perhaps
Incredibles 2 was quite a rare feat. Oh, and Jack-Jack was a total scene stealer!
