Some of the jury criticized MaKenzie's take on Emotion as a direct copy of Destiny's Child - she sounded too much like Beyonce - but as one panelists commented, "when was that even a negative thing?" The thing is, one can't ignore the sheer pitch perfect vocals in this performance. It's karaoke, maybe, but it's prime rib karaoke. The song sat ridiculously well in her sweet spot and the way she played with the melody and phrasing was impressive. Three (3) jury members ranked this at the top of their list with fifteen (15) more within their Top 25.
