Generally, viewers sometimes struggle when they hear a song for the first time. In this reality singing show arena, they understand covers. When one picks an original song, the artist runs the risk of not connecting as fully as they may with a song they are familiar with. So, to see Joseph connect with this year's jury with a self-penned track was incredibly impressive. His vocals sounded mostly solid with great dynamics and the song had an undeniable power in the lyrics.
