Music Release: Imagine Dragons - Walking the Wire "is radio friendly and accessible."
"Do you feel the same when I'm away from you?" Dan Reynolds starts the song in a production that tends to catch your attention right away.
Walking the Wire, Imagine Dragons' fourth single release from their third studio album isn't something extravagantly innovative to say the least, but the single works and it reminds the band's loyalists and even the music pundits of Imagine Dragons' signature mellow rock tunes.
The single boasts cheesy verses from Dan Reynolds' assertive vocals. It has that pre-chorus that builds up a crescendo of catchy and repetitive chorus and one must also praise Dan's vocal work here - it is gritty without alienating the audience.
Walking the Wire is radio friendly. It is accessible. It doesn't involve big, bombastic production. It will remind you of It's Time and how it paved the way for the band's success. More so, the track allows the market to relate and the pulsating beat, vocal dynamics (that even the "Oooh-oooh"'s) are significantly punch worthy.
Imagine Dragons finds a single that reaches all sides of music spectrum and even if the heavy-bass single Walking the Wire seems to be a generic song, it is not offensively bad. It is actually a decent, memorable tune.
Do you agree with my thoughts about the song?
