Music Release: Selena Gomez (ft. Gucci Mane) - Fetish "is a racy, sensual effort."

Over a short span of time, Selena Gomez has continued to experiment her sound having the guts to be more bold, risky and indulgent. It comes with a price though as it could either be a good thing or not.

One thing about taking chances with music is that you don't want to alienate your loyal followers and at the same time you don't want to get stuck on the same old brand.

Selena Gomez has managed to be in that spot. Bad Liar was a commendable coming out of her shell in terms of artistry as the single sounded like she found her niche and strength. While Fetish continues that ideology, it leaves out something underwhelming.

Fetish isn't entirely bad. The spit fire verses start an impact right away while it builds up to that pre-chorus that allowed us to listen to that the whispery quality of Selena's tone until it reaches the infectious, catchy chorus that she sensually delivers over some eerie synths.

Fetish is a racy, sensual effort and it sticks to the formula that Bad Liar started. But at the end of the effort, the single feels flat. It could have been attributed to the lazy back track or Gucci Mane's rap verse that seems to be an afterthought. But for a follow-up, Fetish is quite underwhelming.
