Movie Review: Cars 3

Car 3 may not have reached the heights of Pixar's finest achievements, but this was a marked improvement from the travesty that was Cars 2. It had a decent and effective emotional storyline with a little hint of humor, which made the first movie golden, and it felt more serious and grounded. I thought the visuals were wonderful as expected, the voice work was fairly good, and some of the character designs looked polished. It did lack a certain degree of energy and personality though and the change of tone wasn't as visceral as I was hoping.

While I have to give credit to Pixar for sticking with the Cars series - mostly because of the strong merchandising opportunity - I genuinely feel that they need to just let this one go and end the franchise with Cars 3 - a harmless and pleasant, albeit forgettable cinematic experience.
