Movie Review: Charlie's Angels

The newly reincarnated Charlie's Angels was extremely generic, but still perfectly watchable. Look, I was never really a big fan of the franchise - yes, including the cheesy ones with Drew, Cameron, and Lucy - so I didn't expect much from this one, but this was not as bad as some people wanted it be. I found Kristen Stewart to be fantastic here and shockingly funny - sidenote: don't start hating on her just because the only thing you know about her was that she's from Twilight. Do your research! - Ella Balinska was an absolute badass and Naomi Scott was better here than in Alladin. There was an exuberance and fun energy in their chemistry that somehow made the lazy writing almost bearable. Yes, the writing, sadly, was problematic as well as the direction. Maybe we should stop giving Elizabeth Banks projects to ruin no? I mean, she did it with Pitch Perfect 2. Charlie's Angels wasn't terrible, but just highly forgettable.
